Prior to setting up my private practice I worked for several years in the field of mental health where I gained experience of working with individuals, couples and groups in NHS Primary Care, rehabilitation and forensic environments. Currently I run a Counselling, Psychotherapy and Mindfulness private practice that has been in operation for over 10 years. I enjoy holding workshops and courses and love being involved in training both in my specialisms of TA and Mindfulness and in the broader area of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My Educational experience consists of a Masters Degree in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, an Honours Degree in Psychology, and a Diploma in Groupwork. I am a PTSTA and Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) and the author of ‘3DTA – an illustrated guide to Transactional Analysis’. I am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Mindfulness Based Approaches at Bangor University

As a member of these organisations I am bound by their Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Ethical Guidelines for Research in Counselling and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research). As a Mindfulness Teacher I work within the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good Practice Guidelines for teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses
My approach to therapy is humanistic, based on person centred counselling. The theoretical model I use is Transactional Analysis combined with some Cognitive Behavioural, Gestalt and Mindfulness techniques.
