I am a qualified Child, Adolescent and Family Psychotherapist, working online. I have an integrative approach and so I am able to offer therapy based on the individual needs of clients. I may use a systemic approach, which focuses on problems which are a part of or have a negative effect on the family system. This can be useful in helping clients to explore conflicts and breakdowns in communication. A psychodynamic approach, which aims to support clients in understanding the impact of past and present events, can help in exploring how these events may guide their own actions, feelings, choices and ways of relating to others. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on how your thoughts and beliefs may affect your feelings and behaviours and supports clients in learning different ways of coping with for example, anxiety or depression. With extensive therapeutic experience of working in various fields, including offending, mental health, Special Educational Needs, children and young people in care and substance misuse, I am passionate about the importance of a safe and therapeutic space for children and young people in particular and understands the need for individualised therapy sessions for all.
